Today we celebrated Hannah's 9th birthday. First off let me just tell you that I remember her being born... and that children just grow way too fast!! Hannah is 9 going on 19. She is sweet and sassy and has a style that is all her own. She loves going shopping at Macy's and listening to music.
Her birthday party was really cute with a lot of great ideas for games. First they played passed the potato.. they didn't pass a actual potato, but you know the game.. right?
Then they played Pop the balloon. This game was hilarious! I seriously had not laughed like that in a long time. All you do is attach a rubber band to a balloon, then slip the rubber band around your foot so that your walking around with balloons at your feet. The goal of the game is pop your opponents balloons and be the last one standing with a balloon still at your feet.
They probably played that game for 30 minutes before they finally just declared that several people won it. The kids did a great job!
Then.. on to the cake! The cake is a homemade cookie cake and it was very yummy! It tasted more like a actual cookie cake than the rubbery cookie cakes at Great American Cookie company. (Although I will NEVER pass up a cookie from there either - hey! Cookies are Cookies!!)
The pinata was hilarious. After the first swing, the string detached from the pinata, so they had no way to hang it back up. So one by one, each kid got to take a swing at the cupcake sitting on the floor. The kids didn't mind one bit though, they were just interested in what was inside.
It was a great day with lots of laughs and lots of fun. Happy Birthday Hannah. I hope all your dreams come true!
