Grandmama Turns 85

Yes, She is officially 85 years old... and still going strong.

She didn't want me to take any pictures of her, but I snapped this one while they were singing Happy Birthday.

Happy Birthday Grandmama! We love you!

PS. We went to Texas Roadhouse to eat... great food. Excellent Prime Rib!! and just in case your wondering why the waitress is dressed all weird. It was Super Hero night and they were suppose to be dressed as Superheroes. She is Poison Ivy.  Now forgive me if I am wrong... I am not fluent in Batman, but wasn't Poison Ivy a villan?

Relaxation For Mommy

Recovering from a previous weekend of streamers, balloons and guests... I just wanted to go to the Ranch and relax. And what do you do when you have a 4 year old and just want to relax?

Impossible you say?

No. You just blow up a giant slide... invite a few friends... and call it a few hours of freedom.

You can sunbathe and read your favorite novel.

or since it's 100 degrees outside...

You sit under the porch and space out while you watch the kids play.

Either way.. I relaxed.. and he had a blast!

Lowe's Stacking Friends

Our Lowe's project this week was Kung Fu, Stacking friends.

Joshua wasn't really excited about this one, but once he saw all the characters, he couldn't wait to build it. In fact.. he started hammering without me.

He was doing so good, until he got to these smaller blocks. The nails started going crooked and bending... and it was just hard...   even for me. I am so glad I had saved a few nails from previous projects because I had bent one beyond repair.

We did a great job though... HE did a great job being as he hammered most of it by himself.

This is a cool little game.. You take turns seeing how many friends you can stack on top of each other without them falling over.

So proud of his certificate and the new patch he earned today.

The Value Of A Dollar

Lately, we have been trying to teach Joshua the value of a dollar.

When we go into any store... he of course... thinks we are made of money and will pick out 10 things and tell us... "It's only ten dollars.. please Mom and Dad."

So today, he had $10 birthday money and I was determined to NOT use any of our money.

He had $10 and that was it!

So he looked and looked and finally found just what he was looking for... all under $10.

He even paid the cashier himself.

and what did he buy?

A stuffed King Julian for $6.99

and some candy for $1.99

Total: $9.00 and some change.

Even got back a few coins to save for the next purchase.

We are so proud of him!! He is learning the value of a dollar, and that he must control his shopping habit and only pick what he can afford.

Now if only I can figure that out!! Just kidding! I am doing much better.

And after dinner.... a little game of chess with Daddy.

I love my two boys!

Super Cousins

It's a bird.. It's a plane.. It's Super cousins!!!

Yes.. here they are... Joshua.. Hudson and Hallee...

Here to save the day....  and possibly help a old woman take out trash...

They are fast as lightning...

Faster than a speeding bullet...

well... maybe not... but my imagination is running wild because these three kids are just too cute!

And here we have... SpideBatman and his horse of wool!

And here is Miss Hallee... aka... Super Aggies Fan... as according to her shorts... She is about to fly away...  or Karate chop me...

The kids had so much fun in their capes.. they did not want to take them off. In fact... they played with them the whole day...   makes me want to wear a cape.

Sadly though.... it would look more like a backwards bib on me....

The Smith's And The Park

The Smith's vist the park for a day full of fun.

... and still wearing their capes...

Spidey Kids!!

Hudson is on top of the world!

The splash pad was the kids favorite. It was so nice to see them playing together..... and they were so happy to be in each others company. Hallee and Hudson live about 4 1/2 hours away, so they don't get to visit that often.

Roby pushed Clair into the water and under the foutains.

He says that this is his Spidey upside down hang.

Shelby enjoys the kiddy rides too!

.... and afterwards Meema and Tetaw took Cool Moe J to the hottest kid spot in the world...

Mc Donalds.... and he was in heaven.

This little boy loves his Meema, Tetaw, and all his cousins.

The After Party

And this is what your house looks like after a birthday party.....

Our Superhero Turns 4

Today, my little man turned 4 years old. He is growing too fast! I can't believe just 4 years ago at this moment we were in a hospital.. patiently waiting.  Finally... after 12 hours of labor... we decided that he must come out. So at 7:06 pm, Joshua Bauer Smith was born.

Happy Birthday to the best thing that ever happened to us!!

And because I had company during the party... and we have been very busy this week with other stuff... I am going to be a woman of little words, but BOMBARD you with pictures.

Almost all of the decorations were hand made by me. Few of the items were bought. If you have questions on where we got anything, I will be happy to share.

This has been the best birthday party... by far.

Next year?  Pirate Theme!
